At Times , At Sixty

by Roger J Kenyon

It is as if one wants to serve
As an understudy
To order and serenity
Rehersing for an eternity
Of silence
Before the final scene
Of the last act plays out
At times at sixty.

This poem is very quick but oh so satisfying and I hope you know this is not empty praise. It caught my eye.

this ode is beyond contemplative. and arrived at a certain age what are we to do but conclude and concur with that fine line which has us rehearsing for an eternity of silence.
