Dragon's Wind

by Lori I Wolfe

Looking up and all around me
the heavens glow with a sea green light.
Waves swirl dancing softly across the sky
as the demons began to rise up in the night.

Before me the mist started to fly
upward it rose in a circular motion into the sky.
Floating like cotton candy in the airless space,
caught between heaven and the ground of this place.

Within this vaccum that surrounded my soul
began twisting and turning me into its black hole.
The winds thrashed and they pulled me around
as I was being lifted off of the ground.

The Dragons breath beat in my face
as the sound of its roar
was heard all over this place.

Looking up into the Dragons black eye
I felt light and free,
as it sang to me with such sweet serenity.
Tears spilling from heaven, trickling down my face.

The Dragon's grip loosened its hold,
as the ground reached out and cradled me near.
Saddness pierced my heart
as I watched the Dragon float into the night.

I laid there sighing softly as it slipped away.
Sounds of Angels began to sing
as Gods golden light shined down upon the earth once again!
