do i notice anything
outside my perception?
does what meets the eye
come full of deception?
the world has closed the doors
on a forgotten soul
like mine; like yours
life has taken its toll
we do not see
the world at all
that is, beyond we
we build a wall
and close ourselves in
safe from the harm
that we know would win
we fear what we know
confined in this room
as we fall slow
to our immenent doom
we have designed
everything in sensory view
to make us lose our minds.
