white paint wears thin
what happened to this place
where so many promising things begin
that most end up in digrace
where is the mind
in this mindless blur
and, as in kind
what happened to the things that were?
is there anything left of this
besides a picket fence, burned down
then welcome to broken suburbia
where there is nothing aplenty to pass round
what happened to the promise
of something good for life
why is this so... like this?
