stargazing

by Andrew S Adams

There was a crown of stars
dancing around your head
and i caught my mind...
shooting through the night sky
While you lost your attention to the moon...
that was you, glowing brighter than any other celestial body
she looked at him... his shy bright eyes, and he...
was drawn by her gravity... and he did not bother to look back into the vast emptiness he left behind...
She thought the night was getting to cold - she needed to feel his touch...
he was drawn closer and closer... and abandoned all sense of fear...
while the moon shown softly on her skin... in a way she KNEW he would resist...
he brought himself closer... he needed to touch his goddess or he himself would not be complete.
She was wrapped inside his thoughts... knowing it was meant to be... as he...
he longed to be wrapped in her arms... for he was wrapped in her thoughts as well.
they needed to crash into each other... and not let the gravity of earth pull the shooting star away.
He was shy, she was scared so what was there to? both frozen out of there own secret passsion... afraid of what the other might do...
they floated in each others existance for eternity,
slowly releasing their fear into the infinite sky
he would gaze at her... she would gaze at her star
and wonder...
but sometimes, while the earth paid no attention to what was happening above
they finally would meet each other... and knew what it felt like
to be together. credit must also be given to betsy narr- who not only inspired this poem, but wrote every other line of it. her library is 3072, if you want to read more of hers.
