I Heard a Snake Beyond the Wall by Leonard M HawkesI heard a snake
Beyond the wall,
But as I
Peeped to see,
Its golden eyes
Averted, and
All I saw
Was me.
And thus I felt
Its writhing,
Felt its lust,
Its hate;
And White,
It slithered
Stormward, wetly
To its fate. 10/30/2001 Posted on 10/30/2001 Copyright © 2024 Leonard M Hawkes
