Concert of Seasons Changing Face

by Audrey M Scott

Serenade of Spring sighs
her closing note,
lush green grass begins decay,
whilst colourful bouquets
confetti fading petals to the ground.

Season increases her contralto pitch,
as in changing octave ---
Summer slyly smiles prelude to
oncoming kiss of her burning breath.
Her clear skies pretty blue.

In Oboe sweetness Autumn slips in
with her hues of gold, light umber,
burnt rust and flaming red.
Her dew freshness glistening the dawn,
beckoning new green shoots to awaken.

The orchestra of Winter parasols in
paraded medley, each melody beating
its own rhythm of booming and quiet,
dark and white, in operatic drama of
Snow Queen to Howling Monster.
