Garden Of Eden

by Charles E Minshall

______________________

Everything we like
They say not to eat,
It bothers the heart
Or alters the beat.

In this age of genetics
Can't we turn things around,
And have chocolate carrots
Come from the ground?

Maybe Oreo sprouts
Full of vitamin C,
Or vine ripened doughnuts
To be picked with glee?

Of course Jack Daniels
From the sap of a tree,
And Martinis freshed squeezed
From the pod of a pea?
