On little nineteen month old feet,
tiny pony-tail bouncing as she bobs along,
twisting to look back over her shoulder,
her arm stuck out to balance,
she first runs this way and then that way;

Amusing, as in every direction she turns
trying to lose this newly discovered shadow
--- this dark thing stuck to her feet.

What is this mimic image?

Crouching she reaches out to touch it,
it bends down too.
She tries again…
Oh this shadow thing is just too intimidating!

It’s better to run and pick some weeds.
