Sufficient

by Audrey M Scott

‘Tis in brazenness I flirt
when casting my “caressing”
words upon the waters,
knowing the way of the tide
and upon which shore they’ll
berth, like sea-shells
whispering the oceans waves.

‘Tis with calamity I sing my
affections in clumsy clammy
manner, this climate fine tuning
the notes on the wing,
before they settle on his ear
and nestle in his breast;
supplying warmth to winter season.

In soft pastel hues friendship
forms, boldly laced into a
warming blanket shared.
Covering naked souls unashamedly
whilst drinking from the chalice of verse.
‘Tis now ….
joy seeps my depths in solitude.
