EASTER CHARADE by Charles E Minshall _______________________
I could write a sonnet. Where went the Easter bonnet? Where went the pretty clothes, Our Mothers used to know?
It's now pants made of denim, And denim jackets too, Without some needed patches You can see right through. _______________________ A parody on Irving Berlins Easter Parade ©1936

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 04/07/04 at 03:32 AM Chaz, I am glad you put in your author's note. Otherwise I wouldn't have sung it aloud. Gees, do you bring back memories for me! My old piano teacher, Ina Jackson Carmen (my poem, Ida's Music) used to play this for us, the metal bracelets on her wrists tingling as her hands bounced around on the keys. Hmmmmm... lovely memory. Thanks, my friend. |
