Daughter of Fire and Ice

by Scott M Pratchner

A steady walk on the unsteady path
When most would run far away
She burns and heals
Stands tall and kneels
As the night sky turns into day

A heart as cautious as starlight
As daring as the sun
Ever changing
A whirlwind, rearranging
Whose time has just barely begun

The sweet complications of her mind
As clear as ice in the spring
Her beckoning fire
Awkward thoughts of desire
With her laughter birds in chrous sing

Black and white, eye of the storm
A paradox, sugar and spice
Dare I reveal
These thoughts I conceal
For the daughter of fire
And ice?

Wow, Scott! This is gorgeous! I love the sing song sound of this in the ears of my eyes... (you know what I mean don't you?)
"Black and white, eye of the storm
A paradox, sugar and spice
Dare I reveal
These thoughts I conceal
For the daughter of fire
And ice? "
Some of the POTD, I just don't relate to, but this one! This last stanza... Sounds like how God talks to me sometimes. I LOVED this! Congratulations on POTD.
