Poetry of a Different Kind
09/19/2011 08:16 a.m.
I haven’t been writing much poetry lately, although would still like to add a few more pieces to New Blood, having marked its closure for October 2011. Cause after that, it’s the end of the world…just kidding!
Instead, I have been concentrating on photography, having finally traded in my film SLR Canon Rebel for the digital version.
Included below and on pages to follow are various examples of my better work, some taken with the film Canon, while others, more recently with the digital. It’s an amazing machine, half camera/half computer. I’m still learning what all the dials, buttons, displays mean and do. Prior to that, my first 35mm SLR was a Pentax K-1000, which I bought in the early 80s, and had up until 2003, when I bought my film Canon.
As you will see, flowers are among my favourite subjects, however I am no botanist, so for you gardeners out there, if you can indentify any given species, I would greatly appreciate a hearing from you.
My own photos are always identified now with my name and country, mainly because there are other Chris Sorrentis in the world. One in fact is an artist and film maker, living in the States; so as not to get us mixed up with one another in terms of our work/accomplishments.
All the photos have been reduced (data-wise) to one degree or another, for posting on various web sites over the years, some of which you may recognize, either from my own defunct web site, or having been twinned with poems here at Pathetic.org.
Over time, I will gradually add more pages and photos. As always, comments are appreciated, and happy to give more details if asked.
