The Journal of Clara Mae Gregory a farewell of sorts...
11/04/2014 04:07 p.m.
Goodbye to the poets here that might care. I wish all the best.I am not the type to leave without saying goodbye. But,I am leaving without leaving.[perhaps a break...I just know it is necessary for now.] I just don't have time for this and it saps my productivity in my real world life. I got my sanity back at the same time that this world is not doing so well and I hope to keep it.The very near future is about to get crazy....brace yourselves.....and goodluck.

We all declare for liberty.....
10/29/2014 12:55 p.m.
We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing.
With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men's labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name--liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names -- liberty and tyranny.

always thankful
10/14/2014 11:30 a.m.

Well, I thought things were looking up....and then another setback...Had a sad day yesterday...but not giving up or giving in...my youngest was led to believe he had a job and was even given a start date....but incompetence in the process overlooked some things concerning my son's record and hiring policies dictated that he could not begin work at this time....he was told he was guaranteed employment in 18 months as long as he continued staying out of trouble....it may be overturned however and in the meantime, he is trying to get on at consolidated diesel......it hurts to see him hurting so much to the point of unstoppable tears....but the devil isn't going to defeat us....we will persevere and overcome! He is a very good son and he just put up a storage building for us and other things and we help him in getting thru this difficult period....and it is scary when a mother discovers things are not working out so easily that your adult child is having thoughts of suicide. But we are always thankful for family and what we have that matters....and we bury those bad thoughts of suicide...And to think these two babies came close to being aborted because there are those who influence others into believing these babies are better off being aborted. Not true!Life is a challenge and money is not the key to true contentment and happiness. The twins have certainly changed all our lives-no doubt about it!

Family
09/19/2014 11:57 a.m.
Family is most important to me. When family members are not doing well, I am not doing well.I am thankful that our prayers and perseverance has paid off. I was in a hurry yesterday and somehow forgot to mention that we took Jolene and the kids out to eat and Johnnie[3yrs. old] managed to set off the restaurant fire alarm. Thankfully, it wasn't busy. David switched jobs and is making more money and likes it much better. He was not able to join us due to his job.We bought and installed a firetruck bed for Johnnie's 3rd birthday. That little fella loved it so much, he told us "thank you" 3 separate times!

Melissa is now pursuing a realtor's license and rents a room at her house as a bed and breakfast, which works out better than having a roommate and since she lives in Asheville, it works. She and her longtime boyfriend are back together but maintain separate households. They're doing well...well, my daughter just called and informed me that she and Mike are moving back to Boone after she completes her classes. We are glad because it is closer to us and the rest of the family.
The best news, though, concerns our youngest son, Robbie. He took classes for specialized training to work at firestone. He passed his pee test and has been hired! He starts work in October. This has taken a great weight of supressed worry off my shoulders. We have gotten through alot with our youngest son's legal troubles.I have "employed" him in the meantime with house/pet sitting, yard care and housecleaning and maintenance, house painting, flea market helper and currently he is putting up a storage unit for us.All is working out. Wade and I needed our time and now, together we are ready to be the needed backbone of the Arnold clan and most important, taking on this phase of our lives with much love![forgiveness is at the core that gave this family hope again.]

Resting Up
09/18/2014 02:29 p.m.

We are home now and resting up, lol, starting with a visit with the twins[19 months old now]over this past weekend. Tues. and Wed. we spent visiting our other grandchildren on the farm. We got Johnnie a firetruck bed and assembled it for his 3rd birthday. He loved it.....and now it is time to start catching up on chores and laundry and getting ready to go to the Raleigh Flea Market as vendors....weather is forecast to be very nice this weekend. I have been writing some but just haven't had time to focus on it for posting yet. I love this site the most when it comes to a poet's outlets for expression. I love and care about all you people out there.

Shockenaw Boys
09/16/2014 02:01 p.m.
We attended this festival and it has risen to the top of my most favorites, partly because of the setting and the intimacy of small size....this was one of my favorite sets.....hope you enjoy it too!

on the road
09/10/2014 02:21 p.m.
We have been on the road since June. Now we are heading back east at an enjoyable pace. We had to alter plans several times, as this trip out our old rv needed repairs (alternator, starter). Although not cheap, it still has been way less than acquiring a new rv would have been. And I like our rv...the colors are light blues and soft browns....most newer ones are more neutral and dreary. How can I afford this one may wonder? Well, for one thing, I do not have a mortgage payment and our bills are very low-especially when we are traveling. Currently, we are in Missouri near Osage Beach and heading towards Mark Twain National Forest. We made a decicion to stay off interstates and enjoy our countryside of America! Hope to be at our grandson's home by the weekend. His 3rd birthday is today!

Love One Another
08/31/2014 03:26 p.m.
We've been exploring Colorado and headed south down the middle corridor ending up at a hot spring fed swimming pool and therapy hot tub pool in Hooper near The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, which we have climbed as well. Our plan is to head to New Mexico and visit Mystery Mountain again at Los Lunas and continue further south and over to Three Rivers and then to Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Texas as we progress onward towards home by September 10th,our grandson's 3rd birthday. No more festivals for now. We would rather do this.I am feeling sad however and need to get outside soon to shake it off. Early this morning I received some sad news on FB via another old friend.I am sitting here crying in our RV in Albuquerque NM with plans to do some serious hiking to check out Petroglyph National Monument. One of my former art teacher colleagues and good friend has passed away from cancer last night at age 63. When I stepped down from teaching, she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. We taught art camps together and went to our art conferences together and shared a room as attendees...she was from Australia and was a fantastic LOVING person. It makes me cherish even more every breath I breathe and to live life to its fullest as if each day were to be the last. We all will die and that is a basic truth that is the same for everyone. How we live matters. love one another
