Drowning

What happened to all those summer songs?
And summers that lasted all summer long?
When everyone knew their neighbours names
and parents would join their kids in games.

I have these grainy memories
like those cinecam home movies
bursting with smiles and miles of bright sunshine,
you in your hand-me-downs and me in mine.

Taking a towel to the outdoor pool and
jumping from the high board like a fool.
Out in the sun running round, getting brown
without the need for lying down.

I have these grainy memories
like those cinecam home movies
bursting with smiles and miles of bright sunshine,
you in your hand-me-downs and me in mine.

All the kids would go out to play
and not go back in til the end of the day
with a handful of bluebells to keep your Mam pleased
so she'd not tell you off for the state of your knees.

Nos Da Sunshine

Well I've never been pleased with it so I binned the old version below and re-did it. I'm still not happy with it but it's better than it was (I think).

Anyway, have a listen if you want and let me know what you think. That goes for my other rubbish too.
