Are you crunk with Jesus?
08/24/2006 11:20 p.m.
I saw that posted on a church sign driving home from work today ~ had to take a second look to make sure I was reading it correctly.

I have no idea what "crunk" means. Do I need to be crunk with Jesus? Am I already and didn't know it? I guess I should keep tabs on the growing lingo more often.

So if anyone out there in PPS land knows what that means ~ please advise. I sure don't want to be left out.

Guess that just shows my coolness factor in life is zip.

Oh, well

I suppose if it's got to be any of them I guess I like the one I got...

You Are Bert

Extremely serious and a little eccentric, people find you loveable - even if you don't love them!

You are usually feeling: Logical - you rarely let your emotions rule you

You are famous for: Being smart, a total neat freak, and maybe just a little evil

How you life your life: With passion, even if your odd passions (like bottle caps and pigeons) are baffling to others

A humble thanks for POTD. (a little late)
08/02/2006 02:24 a.m.
My life is soooo hectic and stressful right now, that I did not even get the chance to log on yesterday. (which is actually quite rare, I usually try and find the time regardless to log on everyday) Much to my surprise, one of my "children" finally got it's name up in lights. Pathetically speaking of course!!! SO this is just a tad bit late, but....

A very humble thank you for making my "ink spots" POTD. I am honored to be in the company of such great poets. And a special thank you to Charles Harrison, Kristina Woodhill, Matt Hartman, and my wonderfully awesome friend Chelle for taking the time to leave a comment. Just a few simple kind words really does make the cake sweeter.

Love you all!!!

lost within my thoughts of sleepless TV
12/30/2005 10:38 a.m.
I can't sleep, which is really not that unusual for me. But for some reason ~ it just seems so wrong this time. I spent most of the night watching the whole season of My Fair Brady ~ back to back episodes on VH1, which is really unusual for me. But for some reason ~ it just seemed like the right thing to do. Right and Wrong. I rarely watch TV. I rarely get sleep. Wrong or Right. I am.....

I don't like all of this noise in my head and all of this quiet in my life. So I thought hours of celebreality would at least numb one or the other ~ but it only made things worse.

And for the all the words I have stuck inside me ~ release has yet to present itself.

So I ramble. At 4:30 in the morning. Wondering if anyone even cares. Because at this point ~ I don't so why should they.

How appropriate. I gave my two weeks notice at a job I have been at for 8 years. With not another one in sight. It has been one of those weeks you just want to forget. Hopefully not like this though.
Is it Friday yet? My brain hurts. I am tired and I just want to sleep.

A Blessing Mix
11/14/2005 12:10 a.m.
With Thanksgiving approaching, I am reminded of that first pilgrimage into a new land. For the ones who did survive that first year, they had so much to be thankful for. The following is a Blessing Mix. I taught it to my children's church in 2003, and will share it this Wednesday with the preschoolers at my current church. It is an awesome way to share the story and at the same time "bless" others. After preparing the mix, you can place it into any container you want. Then print and attach the ingredients. All that is left is to pass it on to those you want to bless.

A BLESSING MIX
Marshmallows represent that first harsh winter the Pilgrims had to endure. Psalm 74:17 You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter.

Candy Corn brings to remembrance that the Pilgrims only had five pieces of corn to eat that winter. Proverbs 30:8 Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches-- Feed me with the food allotted to me

M & M's stand for God's mercy shown to the Pilgrims. Psalm 100:4 & 5 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

The chocolate chips give us the sweetness of God's promise and Word. Psalm 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth.

Bugles represents the cornucopia or the bountiful harvest given to the Pilgrims. Psalm 13:6 I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Dried fruit (raisins/banana chips) shows us what the Pilgrims were blessed with. Leviticus 25:19 Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill, and dwell there in safety.

The pretzels are the arms folded in prayer and thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God

Cheerios represents the cheerful giving bestowed by the Pilgrims to others that Thanksgiving . 2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

And last, the sunflower seeds gave them hope for the next bountiful harvest given by God. Psalm 65:9 & 10 You visit the earth and water it, You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of water; You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it. You water its ridges abundantly, You settle its furrows; You make it soft with showers, You bless its growth.

I got 17 right.
11/05/2005 12:29 a.m.
The average person only gets 7 right. This is based on U.S. info, so use all lobes of your brain. This can be more difficult than it looks - it just shows how little most of us really see!
There are 25 questions about things we see every day or have known about all our lives. How many can you get right? These little simple questions are harder than you think. It just shows how little we pay attention to the commonplace things of life.

RULES: Put your thinking caps on. No cheating! No looking around! No getting out of your chair! No using anything on or in your desk or computer! Can you beat 20?? (The average is 7) Write down your answers
and check answers (on the bottom) AFTER completing all the questions. REMEMBER-NO CHEATING!!! It doesn't matter if you cheat, actually, because if you have to cheat, then you don't know the answer, thus, you've already missed the question. BE HONEST!!! That means no looking at your phone
or anything on your desk.
LET'S JUST SEE HOW OBSERVANT YOU REALLY ARE.-If not, just have fun!

Here we go!
1. On a standard traffic light,is the green on the top or bottom?
2. How many states are there in the USA? (Don't laugh, some people don't know.)
3. In which hand is the Statue of Liberty's torch?
4. What six colors are on the classic Campbell's soup label?
5. What two numbers on the telephone dial don't have letters by them?
6. When you walk does your left arm swing with your right or left leg? (Don't you dare get up to see!)
7. How many matches are in a standard pack?
8. On the United States flag is the top stripe red or white?
9. What is the lowest number on the FM dial? (Don't look at that dial!)
10. Which way does water go down the drain, counter or clockwise? (Get out of the bathroom!)
11. Which way does a "no smoking" sign's slash run?
12. How many channels on a VHF TV dial?
13. On which side of a women's blouse are the buttons?
14. Which way do fans rotate? (no ceiling fans, mine goes both ways.)
15 How many sides does a stop sign have?
16. Do books have even-numbered pages on the right or left side?
17 How many lug nuts are on a standard car wheel?
18. How many sides are there on a standard pencil?
19. Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, Doc. Who's missing?
20. How many hot dog buns are in a standard package?
21. On which playing card is the card maker's trademark?
22. On which side of a Venetian blind is the cord that
adjusts the opening between the slats?
23. There are 12 buttons on a touch tone phone. What 2 symbols bear no digits?
24. How many curves are there in the standard paper clip?

Should I even admit this?
10/28/2005 11:18 p.m.
Well, it says that I am 83% Dixie. Is being "Dixie" bad? What about being "Yankee"? Is that bad if you are a Southerner? Since I was born and raised in the Good Ole' South ~ looks like the true colors really so run. Wonder that the other 17% of me is?

Give it a try and see.

Are You a Yankee or a Rebel?
