betrayed but you have forgaven them. Your faith
in life has made you an inspiration to us all.
You are intelligent, quiet, beautiful, and

You came from the future. You have wisdom beyond
your age and are always thinking ahead. A
favorite poem of yours is "Autumn" by
Emily Dickinson. You have strenth and
independence. Intelligence and creativity are
your strong points and you always try your
best. Your heart shines through hatred and
always discovers truth. Often you are found
looking ahead and wondering what put us on this
Earth. Your heart is in the right place, but
don't let your wisdom shine through fun. Your
worrying can often prevent you from finding
friends, but your nice and caring spirit makes
up for it. Wisdom is your soul.

selkie
You are a Selkie. Selkies are seaside fey . Tthey
appear as large seals, and legend says they can
shed their sealskin and appear with perfect
male or female forms, their features alluring
and beautiful. They cannot steal human mates as
some faeries do, instead must lure them. But
since they are so beautiful, few resist them.
People believe that Selkies can control the
storms along the coasts, and may have aided in
the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588 by
using their combined magic. They are
capricious, but of a good nature, except when
it comes to their mates. Then they are just as
jealous as they are beautiful. Legend also says
they cannot stay on land with their human
lovers but must return to the sea.

Just because....
02/12/2004 08:49 p.m.
I'm struggling to stay awake at work... I'm thankful/grateful.... and I'm SO confused....

My car is running properly again. I didn't have to pay for the repair. My best-friend fixed it for me. He won't tell me how much the parts cost, and he refuses to let me pay for the car he rented for me. He told me the other night "You know I love you"... and I said, "yes, but..." and the "buts" are why I continue to date other people and hope to find someone who loves me, without the "buts"...

To that extent, I have met a really great guy. It's just tough because circumstances make it difficult for us to see each other very much... mostly my circumstances, not being able to get a babysitter, etc. I haven't seen him since Saturday, although I talk to him almost every day, at least once a day. I was hoping to see him this weekend, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.... oh well, everything will work out the way it is supposed to....

*sigh* it looks like another Valentine's Day alone... well not really I'll have the boys with me.

and I'm BURNING UP!

This is supposed to be winter for Pete's Sake!

I'm seriously thinking about kicking the ceiling fan up on high and opening the patio door to let the cooler night air in... but will I wake up in the middle of the night freezing? that would suck! I hate waking up in the middle of the night, and then not being able to go back to sleep... well unless there is a really good incentive to stay awake for a while, but I haven't had that incentive in a really LONG time so...

I digress...my muse has left me,.... again... =(

Just my thoughts...
02/04/2004 03:55 p.m.
about the Super Bowl, half-time debaucle, nudity, etc.,etc....

*Note this is socio-political, and I have been accused of being very conservative, so ....judge for yourself.

The Super Bowl was held here, in Houston. I didn't attend the game (I'm a single mom, I can't afford tickets!), I didn't go to any of the big celebrations or anything either. I might have if I'd had a babysitter and someone to go with. I love to "people watch", not necessarily celebs, just people, being themselves, acting crazy, dressing ridiculously (I used to love just hanging around the airport and observing in the pre 9/11 days) and those venues would have been a great place to be around... sit in a corner out of the way, get a good view, and just watch the craziness!

I did watch the Super Bowl on TV, as did how many other Americans?

I don't recall any really obnoxious commercials... well maybe the Bud Light "Fergus" commercial... you know where the dog bit the guys' crotch. That was fairly typical "boys locker room" type stuff though. I loved the "Chevrolet Revolution" commericial with the bars of soap in the mouth.

The half-time show... once the TSU and UH marching bands were done, I didn't care any more. I thought their entrance was fantastic. It brought back great memories from my HS marching band days. They rocked! The Drum Corps! OMG... even in the middle of the show, that spotlight... I wanted to jump up and get with the groove! But overall, the half-time show wasn't what I a) personally care for or b) anything I would want or encourage my children to watch.

We do not watch MTV at my house, although my boys have watched it with their father, as well as seeing "Jackass", "Beavis and Butthead", "South Park", and several "adult swim" cartoons that I don't particularly appreciate their viewing, but I don't have control over what they see when they aren't with me.

Anyway, other than the marching bands, I can't think of any other segment of the half-time show that I didn't feel was vulgar. From the crotch holding rappers, to the strip-tease cheerleaders, to the cross-dressing dancers in lingerie, the bump and grind dancing .. dancing and outfits like that are what I expect to find in clubs for "21 and up", not on prime time television, and especially without some kind of a warning or disclaimer... I mean for Pete's sake!

Yes, I think that some kind of a "reveal" was planned to end the show. Whether or not it was a complete reveal or not is debatable, but it wouldn't surprise me. It seems that MTV, Hollywood, etc. is always pushing the line, testing the waters, and trying to see how much shock factor they can induce.

My brother and his family (3 children under the age of 5) were at a churchwide, family-oriented Super Bowl party/viewing. I can completey relate to and understand where that group would be upset. He has written a letter to the FCC, as well as several other people from his church.

A local radio commentator/sports broadcaster is starting a campaign to have JT , JJ and MTV banned from televised broadcasts in the area... ok, I think that is going just a little bit overboard.

What adults choose to view is their own business, what children are exposed to is another matter, regardless of whether their parents are aware, or not. Not all parents can monitor their children's viewing every day, every hour, not because they don't care or want to, but because circumstances prevent them from doing so... Most parents I think erronously presume that major broadcast media will be monitored and be pretty "safe" viewing for pre-teens/adolescents, during prime time.

The government established the FCC to regulate media. The regulations should be enforced, or the FCC should be done away with. If there were no regulations on the media I myself, and I think many parents, would be much more careful about having the TV on, or even in their homes at all.

There is an investigation into the occurrence. If it is found that regulations were indeed violated (and I'm pretty sure they were) then there needs to be a punitive action taken, not just a little slap on the hand and "no-no". Please! as a parent I know that tactic doesn't work with children, does anyone think it's gonna work with adults? Gimme a BREAK!

I don't have a problem with nudity as such... I don't have a problem with artistic nudity. I'm a massage therapist, I have seen bodies with little and no clothes on in my line of work. My children have been to massage clinic with me, they have been in massage classes, etc., etc. I think/feel, that they have a healthy/age appropriate understanding of the human body, male and female. I'm not a complete prude... but the half-time show?

It pushed the line, it stepped on it, jumped up and down, begging for a response of some kind... and it is getting that, and the debate has begun. I'm sure that there will be some redefining of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable, morality will be questioned and brought to a heated debate and boil... the next few weeks/months should be interesting...

Odd that there is so much controversy with upcoming national elections huh?

Quizzes Galore!

FAE
You are blessed with FAERY wings. Beauty,
laughter, life, magic...that's what you are all
about. You are refreshingly innocent and happy
with your life of purity and play. Life's a
game and it's a good one. In your eyes there's
no way to lose! You can be very mischeivous and
have been known to cause trouble, but it's all
in the name of fun and not meant to really harm
anyone. You like to play tricks on people who
aren't quite as bright or clever as you - which
is almost everyone. Nature is the setting you
prefer to be in - Always. Barefoot and wild you
can't be tamed. You're probably a restless
spirit who loves to travel, and quite a
dreamer. Your creativity is astounding and your
art (of whatever media - from writing to
painting to drama) is like something from
another world - ethereal and often very
fantasy-oriented. You can either be a social
butterfly or a loner with their head in the
clouds - but rarely inbetween. You stubbornly
refuse to accept responsibility or to give in
to the wishes of others - unless you feel like
it. You have a strong passion for music and
can't imagine life without it. You'll grow up
someday, but you'll always be a child at heart.
You are adventurous and love to take risks, and
feel a deep connection with the weather,
plants, and animals. You prefer sunshine to
thunder or snow, the warmth of summer to
autumn's chill, and quiet forests to suburban
backyards. Magic through and through, you are
far more powerful than you seem, and are
capable of being extremely passionate. Though
you can be childish, naive, stubborn, and
self-absorbed, one thing is certain - life with
you will never be boring!

I'm laughing out loud to myself because that is so like me it's funny/scary.... Here's another one (not sure if this is me or not)

You are Form 1, Goddess: The Creator. "And The Goddess planted the acorn of life.
She cried a single tear and shed a single drop
of blood upon the earth where she buried it.
From her blood and tear, the acorn grew into
the world."
Some examples of the Goddess Form are Gaia (Greek),
Jehova (Christian), and Brahma (Indian). The Goddess is associated with the concept of
creation, the number 1, and the element of
earth. Her sign is the dawn sun. As a member of Form 1, you are a charismatic
individual and people are drawn to you.
Although sometimes you may seem emotionally
distant, you are deeply in tune with other
people's feelings and have tremendous empathy.
Sometimes you have a tendency to neglect your
own self. Goddesses are the best friends to
have because they're always willing to help.

like the quiet whisper of the wind and the
crackling of the fire. You make people feel
secure and are a great friend. (please rate my

You're chocolate. You're the old soul type, people
feel that they have known you their entire
life. Many often open up to you for they view
you as thoughtful and trustworthy. Although
people trust you, you have a hard time trusting
them. You prefer to keep your feelings bottled
up inside, or display them very quietly. It is
alright to open up every once in a while.

:)
01/20/2004 05:05 p.m.
Had a long weekend off. I got a massage yesterday. The therapist was so good, very responsive and in tune, I walked out feeling so much better, and still feeling relief from the pain that had me barely able to walk.

We have about a dozen baby mice today. I guess they were born sometime last night. Truly hideous looking creatures. There is still one male mouse lose in the apt. It's been out for two days, time to get the mouse trap and tell him goodbye. Not my first choice, but my son was told if he didn't take care of them and make sure they stayed in the cage what the reprecussions would be. Maybe when the baby's get bigger I can find a petstore to take them, and we'll replace them with ONE hamster (and preclude the problems with reproduction).

No everything in my life isn't roses and chocolates, but things have taken on a different light in the last couple of weeks. It's unbelievable what a difference one person can make in another's life.

I'm (im)patiently waiting, to see where this path might lead. Vigilant and cautious as has become my way, but hopeful. I don't look forward to saying goodbye to someone, but realize that it could be a very real situation soon. When the time comes, I'll somehow find the words and the way to let go....

It's not a full moon....
01/16/2004 07:54 p.m.
so what IS the problem today!? Everything has been haywire!
1) The boys didn't want to get up today
2) I finally got them up and started to the car with the youngest one, I turned around and he wasn't there. So I went back upstairs and found him in the bathroom fixing his hair.
3) The door didn't latch and the dogs managed to open it all the way and took off. We ran out after them, but didn't see them anywhere.
4) Finally, we got out of the house and my youngest got to school late.
5) When I got to work, I couldn't find a parking place because they are having an INS service at the arena across the street and all the soon to be citizens were taking up all of the teacher parking places. One of the AP's made several people move their cars and I finally got parked. I asked my son for the house keys because he was the last one out and was supposed to lock the doors... he didn't have them, ie he didn't lock the doors
6) I get into the school only to tell them I have to leave to lock my house. I get home, ONE of the dogs is sitting at the bottom of the stairs, I grab her under my arm, carry her upstairs... the front door not only isn't locked, it's hanging partially open. I finally found the keys... there didn't appear to be anyone inside, so I locked the door and went out to call the other stupid mutt... She finally came running down the road, with her tongue hanging out, from heaven only knows where.
7)I locked the set the alarm, locked the door, and got back to work about 9 am to be informed that the entire arm of my shirt was covered in grime (from the dog running through wet, dirty grass)... I didn't even care!

I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I seriously desired a glass of wine, or something stronger, just to calm down before I came back to work... I didn't do it though!
