Princess Arachne
with her tender web
snares her pity
her prey
Twitching
Sorrowfully, Sad
as each creature does
It does not matter
Their fervor, their resistance
It does not matter
They are the living dead
Between frightened spasms
and hastened gasps
each finds their own peace
a sanctity of their own
Struggling, striving
But they are dead
still dead,
and yet deader still
With glistening, drooling
welcoming jaws
Her Highness
Her Majesty
She clamps down
Bite after bloody bite
Warm and Merciless
