Here I Stand (Rainstorm)
by David NeubauerEmotions run like paint in a rainstorm,
running together, running away.
The tangled skein, the tangled web,
all quieted now with the throbbing pain,
the anger that wells from deep within the soul,
that wells from me.
Here I stand, ready to take control of
what little fate has left me, and here I stand
in the middle of a rainstorm, ready to paint something
true, something beautiful.
Something truly beautiful,
a self portrait.
So here I stand.
Bring down your lightning,
