Lounge

by Richard Vince

There is so much world out there,
Waiting to be explored, but I am
Here, still, stationary while
All around me keeps moving.

Usually, I too am restless,
But today I have chosen to
Pause, the radical action of
Doing nothing for a bit,
Allowing myself to take things
Slowly for once rather than
Merely rushing through.

After all, there is no need
To hurry: the world will still
Be there, waiting for me, and
If it isn’t then
It won’t matter anyway.

Taking a moment is important. That last line... feels bleak. This is different for you, I like it though.
