Joy In The Chaos

by James Zealy

Joy today is limited
Limited to small doses
where each small attempt
Produces calming closeness

Amid negative destruction
Erupting daily meant to flood
Our senses into sensory explosion
While I divide time into periods

Small enough so it’s not significant
It becomes a small facsimile
Compared to moments of satisfaction
Where they become immense smiles

Amplifying positive vibes
So all the exploding insanity
Becomes small ocean tides
Where my mind filters depravity

So all that matters with certainty
Are diamonds of quality
become a focus of hopeful longevity
So hope survives floating to eternity
