Yellow Sweet Heart Roses

by James Zealy

They were small sweetheart
Yellow Roses burgundy tipped
First flowers I sent perfectly cropped
For an anniversary first

I searched to find
In a fox themed gift store
There was something close
Yellowish pink red tinged

The rain slowed waiting
Slowing gods teardrops
While I walked to a bronze plaque
The faded flowers replacing

Behind me was his cross
Today is 4 years since her passing
Her rest and peace no suffering
Her cancerous albatross

Left 03/20/2021 4 years ago
The marker is marked
I am your wave you are my shore
When I leave, beside her I will lay
