It’s a Fallen Glass or Three

by James Zealy

A small event and canteen
Where fruits of the vine
And essence of distilled grain
Gives an escape for a time

Where the intimate setting
Allows Patrons a place to commune
Entertainers a stage for vetting
Musical exorcism of tunes

While enjoying a brew or two
Finding relaxation is natural
Hopeful wishes set to singer vibrato
Of a creation waiting to be corraled

While the blues anchors its sound
In ears relating to choral
Aspirations aching around
To slow-motion pastoral

Confessions that placations abound
Finishing its time in my head
Setting my glass down
Slowly sighing my emotions abed
