Obsidian Sea

by Clara Mae Gregory

Eve of The
Obsidian Sea
.
.
The waters obnubilate
The obsolescent vessel
Floating in the Eve
of the Obsidian Sea
For all to contemplate and be-
It is too little and too small,
Too allusive to save them all.
Nor room for uncivilized reality
Consumed of obnoxious obloquy;
Predators of the ignorant weak,
Degrading
the concept of free.
They invite their roiling waters
Upon other's obtuse existance,
Claiming they're here to assist us
As the atmosphere gets hotter.
Obsessively obtrusive,
The Obsidian's Eve obliquely deceives.
We can only steady our lifeboat of existence
With obstinance and resistance,
Prayerful of a Second chance.
