I got stoned again tonight
So I thought I’d write by candlelight
To find out what’s inside of me and to try to let you know
So I went searching for some rhymes that will easily flow

I got stoned again tonight
I brewed up some tea, and it turned out right
There was a bit of a delay after passing through my gums
About thirty minutes in, I said, “Okay, here it comes”

I got stoned again tonight
I was thinking earlier that I think I might
I’ve never made tea before
Now, it’s something I’ll be doing more

I got stoned again tonight
I had a brownie, a little more than a bite
That kicked in with my second cup of tea
That wasn’t enough, and I poured myself three

I got stoned again tonight
I ate some gummy bears by candlelight
I thought there were two, but there were much more than that
Sixteen bears later, I tossed away the empty pack

I got the munchies again tonight
My lady made a sponge cake that was so fluffy and light
She just makes them, but she won’t eat a bite
It’s just the two of us, and that platter’s empty tonight

I got stoned again tonight
I washed that cake down with some tea by candlelight
I know there’s brownies left that will take me for a ride
Just one, maybe two, will take me to the other side

I got stoned again tonight
Just like I do every night
When it’s wine thirty and the fun kicks off the night
She’ll be sipping her wine, and I’ll get stoned by candlelight

I got stoned again tonight
So I thought I’d sit down and write
To find out what’s inside of me and to let you know
I’m still searching for rhymes that will flow
