It all started at the river by Thomas K. HuntIt all started at the river
The river took me in
Everyday that I’m away is like missing a life long friend
That’s where it all started
I’ll be there in the end
I was there to do the things I’ve done
Those were the days when there was so much fun
The jukebox playing at the bowling lanes
Growing up fast with all my growing pains
Playing street hockey at the top of the hill
Remembering all the fun and I always will
Summer baseball where mothers yelled at the umps
Marlene, called one a f-ng chump
It all started at the river
The river took me in
Everyday that I’m away is like missing a life long friend
That’s where it all started
I’ll be there in the end
Shoveling snow off the old skating rink
Buying candy from a store called Finks
Swimming in the river off of the old coal docks
Sitting in a duck blind waiting for the flock
Friendship rings and all the love that they bring
Innocence can still break a heart
Barn dance to hear the Regal Tones sing
That’s where the B brothers got their start
I loved to play football in the pouring rain
Those days are gone and won’t be back again
I was there to do the things I’ve done
I loved every minute and had so much fun
It all started at the river
The river took me in
Everyday that I’m away is like missing a life long friend
That’s where it all started
I’ll be there in the end
