Falling gently into you

by Manas Moksha

When you touch the sky
with late-night stretching
your heart thumps
stirring bedroom sheets and down

my eyes fall drunk upon the ceiling
each breath the air is light
the room is quiet and more clear
laundry spins the drum at midnight

I hear your whisper and smile to the sound
with each soft step closer
your sweet smell approaches and turns my frown

simple sounds and feelings
the soma that feeds my soul
for I know it is you my love
I feel you without word or sight

off to slumber our bodies writhe
forked and tangled dreaming has arrived
first light and child's laughter
waking sober, content, and right
