Our Life Story

by Thomas K. Hunt

I remember you, I really do from days when I was younger than you, but my sister used to know you better than me
I remember you when time didn't matter, and little brothers played games like chutes and ladders
We grew up in the islands on opposite sides of French Creek Bay
Our hearts have been separately longing to go back to the river some day

The years passed by, but you were never forgotten
I've always smiled when I've heard your name
I had no idea you ever felt the same
Once I found out, I knew we had the fate to blame

Our years apart have not been wasted
You'll never know you like it until you taste it
From now on, you'll live in passion and no more tears
Good things have come to us within our years

It's funny sometimes when fate comes along
We weren't a thought within our minds
Life took hold, and memories got lost with time
Yet we survived the years and hid in the back of each other's mind
Now that our minds are involved, and we're so much in love, there's no stopping now that our Souls have touched

We found each other in a time of need
We know in time we'll both be free
We both have so much more to give
We have one more life to live
We'll live as lovers and do what lovers do
I can't imagine my life now without you
We found each other in the nick of time
We rescued each other's hearts and minds
We both know where we will be
We'll get there, my love, and be home free
