I did not know her well;
I was just being a good friend
To my best friend

I watched their kid
and treated her as my own

She came in most days,
and just picked her up
I don"t think I ever had a real conversation
with her

When my friend
told me that She left

I was not really surprised
She showed little interest
in anyone
but herself

He told me
that she had left
after the baby fell asleep
Look at her child
and said
"You are better off
without me"

She told him that she just was not
up to the task
of Motherhood

She had no maternal instincts;
so she left

My friend just said
She had fun being pregnant
but after the baby was born
She was overwhelmed
So I helped;
just the way
things were

She never returned
Her loss
