The Dragon and the Dove by Brian FrancisYour face shows your disgust with me
It is visible in your eyes
It does not matter who is right or wrong
After the dragon’s rise
All of that anger that you direct at me
Burns me down to the bone
The heat that ravages me, chars my soul
Not just the words but the tone
So, with tears in my eyes
I endure your fires roar
Seared and suffering willingly
I stand here awaiting more
I could run and hide from you
If only I did not love
That being said; I am sworn to stay
Being as timid as a dove
