Underneath Our Blue (revisited)

by Thomas K. Hunt

Smooth bed of green beside the flowing river
Water crystal clean
Home is my surroundings
I again nineteen again nineteen with you
and once again beside the river underneath our blue

A dream of the deepest
Not knowing what is meant
Vivid smiles, passing thoughts
Jasmine without scent

Here on the other side
This other side with you
Your smile shines in the distance
in the light of golden hues

Dreaming in your light that shines in my head
Knowing you are the one and remembering what you said
One sided feelings for the lack of you
Longing for our time underneath our blue

Eyes open in the pallid
Gone are the hues of life
Lost are the days of color
Only found in my dream at night

Dawn breaks and the colors fade away
The whole world turns to gray
I know I dream in color
I live without it everyday

There's a calm among the shadows
In my slumber I find your light
I drift into this dream of mine
Falling back to innocence
Falling back in time
Falling back to nineteen and you
Falling back to the river underneath our blue
