It's already happening.

by Johnny Crimson

Kylie was cute,
a button to you.
She made smirks at the bus stop,
but was rushed into the news.

Kylie was touched,
in the worst of all ways
and a bump formed beneath
with her brain in a daze.

Kylie didn't tell Mama,
but Daddy shortly found out,
and because of their bible,
Kylie had to "Get out now."

Kylie looked to the street
to teach her some things,
like: life is expensive,
and pregnancy isn't cheap.

Kylie wandered for days,
with no food and little sleep,
until a kind old stranger
offered to help poor Kylie.

Kylie heard the woman say
she could help a "victim of rape"
Kylie knew not what it meant,
or quite what to say.

Kylie followed the woman
into the arms of a doctor,
as it was calmly explained,
in a way not to shock her.

Kylie was given a choice,
once she finally understood,
pregnancy was difficult to grasp you see
she was nowhere near adulthood.

Kylie decided to give up,
the life that was forced into her,
having no means or resources,
to bring a baby into the world.

Kylie was given some shelter,
told to come back in one week,
as she battled through night tremors,
which was really PTSD.

Kylie showed up on her date,
to find a pile of rubble,
some overturned legislation,
put her rights in some trouble.

Kylie had nowhere to turn,
the kind old woman was gone,
the doctor was jailed,
as they said her practice was "wrong."

Kylie went back to the shelter,
with no guidance or family,
and one rainy November day,
Kylie bled to death in the street.
