Long Between Tomorrow

by Matthew Zangen

Before youth, as sure as years burn
in certain ends,

hands balanced and pressing.

After a warm ghost palm yearns
uncertain friends,
an unmentionable maybe, reprieving weighty rain,
opens veins baring brilliant colors.
