Homage to Childhood Mornings by Brian Francis
You used to claim that you loved me
You told me so often it was true
but then when I fell too you left me
I simply don’t know what this man can do
I’ve been crying every night into my pillow
Trying to remember what went wrong
Something I had done, caused you to run
So I’ve put my painful heart in to this song
I so miss the way that you would hold me
While we slept in this bed that I bought you
I’d lay awake at night holding you so tight
But alone in this bed my heart's now blue
Weeds have started growing in our garden
The fruits of our labor rot on the ground
I can’t go down there I tried, I tried I swear
Blinded by my tears I just fall down
I’ve dreamt of your return to my arms dear
It seems the only thing that I can do
Lying awake at night holding memories so tight
Come back and you know I’ll forgive you
You used to claim that you loved me
You told me so often it was true
but then when I fell too you left me
I simply don’t know what this man can do
