I only write with the rain coming down
There's just something about it
I love the sound
I just sat down and started to write
My screen went blank
My pc fried tonight

I just lost all my words
I can't believe my eyes
Every word is gone
I've lost all my files

Every word of every line, I'm feeling quite sick
Everything that I laid down disappeared in just one click
It's all been erased, gone forever lost without a trace
Pieces of me are now floating somewhere out in cyber space

The space of rhymes and reasons and questions of my time
Memories and images that had floated across my mind
Megabytes of data precious to my heart
disappeared shortly after I clicked on start

I'll never get them back, and I wasn't even hacked

I first sat down ages ago when those words began to flow
I used a pen way back when laying them down to form my rhymes
As it rained, those words just fell out of my mind

Years now, I've tapped the keys and formed a font so bold and bright
Year after year and line after line, there's been thousands of rainy nights

Right now, I'm beyond hurt
My system restore doesn't work
My PC crashed and took all my words away
All the words I've saved from all my rainy days

I only write with the rain coming down

I see now where I went wrong
Back up should always be done
I wouldn't be in this predicament that I'm in
if I didn't stop using a pen
