I Know You Feel the Same by Thomas K. HuntThe hair's not working
Not like it used to do
It's getting thin on top
There's nothing I can do
If you didn't know then now you know it's true
I'm getting old, my friend, and so are you
I got hurt years before, and now I'm feeling the pain
There are some things that you can never explain
Like why it hurts worse every time it rains
and when the sun shines, the pain remains
I'm not as spry as I used to be
but I still love a good time
I'm now the older version of what is me
Feeling good within my mind
I hope to see you again, my lifelong friend
Sit beside you and smile again
Reflect on the years of laughter that brought us to tears
Grateful that we're both still here
We go back a long, long way
Back to the park and the kindergarten days
We found each other
We shared our lives
You, my friend, are a true friend of mine
When that day comes, we'll be smiling in the sun
Laughing again, enjoying the fun
Once again, all the pieces will fit
Brought back together bit by bit
Though miles separated, you've always been with me
Time has made us; we are what we will be
I'll be so glad to get that chance again
and sit beside you, my lifelong friend
You know who you are
there's no need to name names
I've always loved you, my friend,
I know you feel the same
