Are you watching from a distance
'Round the corner
In the dark?

Are you sitting just beside me
Is that beating
Drum or heart?

I hear footsteps down the hallway
Like a panther
In a cage.

Pacing from it's deepening hunger
Or it's silent
Growing rage.

On my shoulder I feel wetness
Tears or blood I
cannot tell.

While the source remains well hidden
In the shadows
Of it's hell.

(In the stillness hear the singing
In the shadows
Blinding light.

Let the brilliance of the rainbow
Color all the
Grays of night.)

No longer invisible.
