Thirty three put it over the fence on the field in Cooperstown
On the field of dreams where a dream came true he rounded the
diamond and greeted his cheering team at home plate
He made it look so easy
It was a natural thing to do
Dreaming as he rounded those bases of pinstripes and Yankee blue

Thirty three pitched another save
He was right on with every pitch he gave
He loves it on the mound
as he brings each batter down
It's the thrill of the game
Everyone knows his name
Hey thirty three pitch another like that
Throw one more and strike him out at bat
Keep playing as long as you have fun
Keep hitting those mammoth home runs

of stepping on the field in Yankee blue
Work hard, you know what to do

Swing for the fence
Keep your pitch within the zone
You move by instinct to back up home
Make sure to get the ball to the plate
Stand your ground and seal the runners fate

I remember your first time at bat
You got on first and adjusted your hat
I knew right then you were born to be
a boy of summer on a baseball team
You learned quick and you learned fast
Each game better than the last
I've watched you grow in no time at all
I've enjoyed your love for the game of baseball

It's taken be back to my days on the field
Summer days
Playing for real
Staring down the pitchers eye
Waiting for his next pitch to fly
Connecting in the sweet spot of my bat
Smiling and thinking there pitcher take that

Hey thirty three remember theses days
On deck in the summer haze
You'll think back and start to smile
Something you haven't thought of in a while
When life for you was simpler
When everyone called your name
You were a pitcher and a hitter
You just loved to play the game

One more time make it for the team
Some day I'll see your name in lights
In Yankee blue on a NY summer night
You're a joy to watch every single time
