Embers in Darkness by Brian Francis
When the storms are all gone
and the flowers bloom on
bringing colors galore to this desert
My heart skips a beat
when both our hands meet
as we sit at the edge of the canyon
As the sun set sinks low
the clouds roil and glow
the battle against darkness represented
all of the colors give way
to a palette shaded gray
as the darkness flows in all around us
the, speckled sky, offers light
as it echos through the night
dim and forbidding shades of darkness
Our embrace watched by stars
witnessed by mercury over mars
splits the night with its heat radiating
And with passion's rage set free
to sing in chorus its melody
I feel joy in this union and its meaning
