Wild Is The Fire That Consumes Even The Sparkle Of Your Unforgettable Eyes

Loveless and longing,
heartfire is dying,
the silent flicker of your tongue
a trampled ghost of memory.

Shall I sleepwalk through the swamp of years,
someday rediscovering the contours of your elusive embrace?

Or are we disappeared from the planet,
all perfection and synchronicity obliterated
by death's implacable stare,
by our volatile natures,
true love swallowing itself,
fangs of poison spurting
the acrid truth into every third eye
we shared in the darkness,
bodies touching,
souls swimming like dolphins
made of lightning,
like hearts that grew too large
and began to leak,
a crimson deluge to fill our throats,
to kill the most monumental moments
of our lives like a gnat dipped in lava.

Loveless and longing,
heartfire is dying,
the silent flicker of your tongue
a trampled ghost of memory.
