When I touch the coloured pencils
and open the white, empty drawing
on the fresh page, it's time.

I put my headphones in, choose the right playlist
and let the world fade away.
Time to paint a rainbow.

It doesn't matter what he's done or said
or how much money is in my bank account.
Just whether or not my pencils are sharp.

Colouring the small details and
not sweating the small stuff.
