Moments

by Richard Vince

Unaware of all the moments she has missed,
She stands alone as the world lives and breathes
Beautifully around her.

Perhaps the movements of the clouds are
Too monochrome; perhaps the shifting
Of the early summer sunlight is too
Slow; perhaps the beauty of this
Already lovely morning is too subtle…

Or perhaps she believes the lie
That tells the unsuspecting where
Beauty cannot be found.

This world would be a better place
If more people saw what a good place
It is: full of vistas, full of adventures,
Full of moments that can fill
Our hearts with joy and remind us that
We are never alone.
