He fought the battle because he wanted to live
All of us that know him are so glad that he did
We all found out he had so much more to give
The man of the year never to be out lived

I'm so grateful he extended his hand
He taught me things that made me who I am
To all that greet him, there's only one way

You know Leonard
Always a smile
Always a warm hello
Always looks you in the eye

Hey man how ya doin?
Hey man did you know?
It's always great to see him
He leaves you with a smile when it's time to go

He opend the doors and got us a round
The old hotel was the best place in town
Obey Rock filled the backroom
every Wednesday the whole summer through

Happy hour was the place to be
Lving life and feeling free
They came from miles to fill the lot
The party's started ready or not

Leonard lives life the way it should be lived
Earn what you need but always give
I'm proud to say he's a friend of mine
He always will be until the end of time

Generations have known this man
All grateful he was part of their plan
He'll go down in history
Everyone knows, that's no mystery

I want to thank him for his kindness
For showing me he truly cares
All the laughter and the memories
For all the stories I love to share

Leonard is the coolest man I know
He's the one with that special glow
I'm so glad he was part of my plan
The next time that you see him

tell him I say "hey man"
