Lips of Wallachia

by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi

Two minds electric, or magnetic, yet
To meet as one, geography in tow,
Divided, uncollided, though nigh-met
Love's union undeniable in so
Begotten an unpopulated sky.
A full day's journey holds our bodies aft
The Vessel's head, though stars may deify
Our thoughts, the Ursas and Orion laughed
Upon our worrying of distance kept
By the Carpathian division plucked
Across Wallachian expanses swept
'Neath tender winds left obstacles now-shucked.
The day awaits our grasping trembled flesh,
Yet makes us wait till us our times do mesh.

Author's Note: A sonnet for a Romanian woman who's quite thoroughly captured my heart's imagination.
