famished by Jared OrlandoShe gets high
and texts all her best friends
saying she is drowning,
that she is really fucking hungry
for a burrito from Hugo’s
but is also dying,
so the burrito
might not even matter.
She paints with overalls
unclasped,
and there is more
Pthalo blue, Cadmium yellow,
dripping down the
deep valley of her chest
than what is on the canvas.
I’m a mess,
she thinks.
This is it,
she says aloud.
IS THIS IT?
she begins to question.
She falls flat down a wall
on her ass and begins to cry.
Her fingers rest on her face
and she is changing color,
Alizarin crimson and Titanium Buff.
And she is fucking famished. 02/19/2017 Author's Note: For Megan
