The Mountain and the Bottom of the Ocean by Ryan NardiThere are many views:
The view from a bathtub
and a liquor soaked heart
and a razor slashed throat.
The view from beneath an iron helmet
and an axe fractured skull
in the joy of the glory of death in battle.
The view from a father's brow
crinkled with smiles at a child's laughter.
So "now" that there could be no hereafter.
The view into a puppy's eyes
when I could swear she could see into my heart,
and the tears flowing for the love I don't deserve.
There are many views, and none of them true. 02/14/2017 Posted on 02/14/2017 Copyright © 2026 Ryan Nardi
