On this clean blue river under the sun
Where the hearts are all one
Joined together in their summer fun

The smell of the breeze
The feel of the river
That feeling deep inside
like it was meant to be
Proud of the history
Proud of what's inside
On the St. Lawrence sitting side by side

Cruising the 1000 islands
Cruising them one by one
Knowing eyes see the beauty
Their roots here are no mistake
They see the beauty up around them
They see the beauty their the wake

River Rats true and blue
You'll know them when they wave at you
It's always been the thing to do
Throwing out river rat waves

Coming or going
It deosn't matter to them
It's in their DNA to all be friends
River Rats nurture their young
Show those runts respect with fun
There's no better way to spend a summer day
then cruising the islands and throwing out river rat waves

Every rat does it
Look around, you'll see
I'll wave at you
Go on, wave back at me
Throw them out to all that you see
Do the river rat wave with me

It comes down to basic instinct
Rat pups learn very young
Taught from the hearts
that once beat under this sun
I'm proud to say "yes I'm one"
Throwing out waves to everyone

Show those pups
Remind them everyday
Show them what it means
Teach them why to wave

Come on and try it
It's real easy to do
Throw out a wave
Watch them come back to you
It's the river rat thing to do

Look over there, they're all waving back
Let's make it one of those days
Let's cruise the islands

This party's under way
Relaxing in the fun under sun

Sit back you're bound to catch some
Thrown from true rats that always throw
It's them you should get to know
Crusing the 1000 islands
