I’m digging my hands into my bag
while she leans against a lamppost.

She is getting restless,
prepping her face
against the sharp sun rays.

Her toes begin to tap
as I feel the leather backing
of the phone.

After a number of
incorrect logins
I make it to the camera,
point it forward,
and see only a lamppost.

In the distance I make out
a small dot getting smaller
and even with the busy street
I can hear her huffing.
