Heart Of A Child, Mind Of A Titan

by Tom Goss

I.
Obliterated,
a shadowy pair of eyes gleam like starlight,
crashing into the smooth translucence
of a rumbling thought machine,
flowing to the whim of gravity
like a bag of marbles,
overturned.

Jackhammered into a writhing snake of brutal senescence,
we set all the doves free with the lightness of our vegan hearts.

Using the fluttering albino sky as our chalk,
we draw flourishing wildflower dreams into the pockmarked sidewalk of life.

II.
Stand tall against the ubiquitous fusillade of suffering;
let it pierce your skin yet embolden your soul,
for we journey into the blackened forests of life
while sowing the rebellious seeds of rejuvenation:

we promenade into the beleaguered fields of the extraordinary,
attempting to resuscitate the corpse of compassion
with each breath-heavy moment of resplendent awareness.
