Leave Something There

by Thomas K. Hunt

The castle lights shine from heart
The floods paint her walls gold and white
It spreads like flames across the river
Surrounding her darkness in the night

She's come to life since my father's time
Her once empty shell now prepossessing
Her true elegance now so refined
Her majestic beauty preserved in time

My life's been blessed by my father
and the magic of the castle each night
See her shine across the river
So many hearts shines in her light

The river of ages flows for generations
The ones that know this understand
Each with their own trials and tribulation
All have bones buried in the land

Generations know what I mean
On the river and feeling clean
Smiles in the eyes of the people who care
When you go, leave something there
